1: Welcome back!

Welcome back everyone I hope you have all had a terrific summer break and are refreshed and ready for 2011.

Last year 5/6C and I reported on what was happening each week in our class. This year the OC at Soldiers Point has a new teacher Mr Nix, along with 15 new year 5 students. So we’ve changed the name of our blog to 41 Weeks with 5/6N and I’m sure there will be lots of other wonderful changes too. I know that last year’s Year 5 group, now in Year 6, will lead the way and teach the new students, and perhaps Mr Nix too, how to enjoy blogging.

So as I hand over the 41Weeks blog, I wish you luck with your blogging this year and look forward to seeing what great things you get up to in the OC.

41: Farewell and Thank you for our Edublogger Award!

Can you believe that this is our 41st and last post for the year? Time sure does fly when you are having fun. 5/6C have had a terrific year full of exciting learning experiences. We have especially enjoyed blogging and communicating with other students, teachers and classes around the world. It is with great pleasure that we can include some very special news in our last post – we are very honoured to received an award from The Edublogger recognising our efforts this year. We also encourage you to visit the other terrific blogs listed as winners too. This award not only recognises our efforts but also provides funds for students to continue blogging into 2011. We thank the Edublogger and are very grateful for this opportunity. Just when you thought you’d heard all the great news, there is more….one of our student blogs also received an award. A hug congratulations goes to Jessica for her fabulous blogging all year. She definitely deserves this award and we are very proud of her, here at Soldiers Point Public School.

This will be our last official post for this year and for the 41 weeks with 5/6C Blog. Although I will be leaving 5/6C next year,  a new teacher will endeavor to continue this blog with the help of the very experienced Year Five bloggers as they enter Year Six in 2011. Please continue to check in on our blog and keep up to date with exciting experiences next years OC at Soldiers Point.
